Treating Diabetes with Supplements

You’ll find many supplement treatments available for reversing insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and diabetes.  I’m often asked if I recommend them in the fight to prevent or reverse type ii diabetes.

In the HRH Program e-book, the only supplement I recommend is a daily multi-vitamin.  That’s because most supplements are quite expensive—up to and over $100 per month, every month—and they don’t get to the root of the problem, which is a lack of exercise and poor dietary habits.

I fully believe that a better way of treating these diseases is through using an exercise and nutrition strategy like that provided in the HRH Program.

But I also fully understand that not everyone who comes to this site is going to take me up on the promise of the HRH Program—that some people won’t exercise, that they will continue to eat the wrong foods in heavy portions.

I hope that’s not you, but if it is, and there’s nothing I can do to change your mind, then supplements might very well be the only answer besides medical treatments.  (Please check with your doctor to see if medical treatment would be a better option for you.)

The fact is that diabetes is too dangerous not to treat aggressively.  A full 67% of people with diabetes end up dying directly from its complications.

Given that danger, I support trying to find any solution that will fit with your life choices and restrictions.  (For some people with mobility limitations, the type of exercise I recommend may very well be impossible.)  In that case, supplements could be a worthwhile strategy to employ, as long as one fills in his or her doctor as to the reasoning and protocol to be followed.

You should find information about supplements by typing “insulin resistance” or “metabolic syndrome” into Google or Yahoo (or another search engine).  Just look for the sponsored results on the side or at the top.  You may also want to try clicking through the ads at the top and bottom of this page to find something.
