HRH Program News, Notes, and Reflections

  1. I’ve been doing a lot of blogging lately.  There’s a new feature on the site that sends you an e-mail when I post anything new.  Go to www.heartratehealth.com/hrhnews/.  Find the box on the left hand side where you can enter your e-mail address.  It will say, “Powered by Feedblitz” right below the entry box.  Click to subscribe, and you’ll get my latest rants, raves, and reviews.
  2. Think about the following.  “There’s never enough time to exercise, but there’s always enough time to be sick.”  I derived this from the following quote: “There’s never time to do it right, but there’s always time to do it over.”
  3. I’m preparing a big article on weight loss resistance, which will include a lot of information on thyroid problems.  Even if your readings are coming back normal, that doesn’t always mean your endocrine system is performing optimally.  Look for the article within about a week.
  4. Bookmark the site www.mercola.com, and sign up for his newsletter.  He does a great job getting out health information, and he usually has some interesting links that will get you out of your rut.
  5. While you’re at it, go to www.lef.org.  This is the premier site for health research, especially on supplements.  They also have a newsletter you can sign up for.
  6. If you haven’t visited the web site in a while, go to www.heartratehealth.com/resources/ to find more great products that will add to your HRH Program experience.
  7. Lastly, I’m looking into a great motivational service for you: free and discounted travel opportunities! How does this relate to the HRH Program? It’s simple.  Just imagine yourself going to the beach in a couple of months.  How do you want to look and feel? Swimsuits are always great motivation.

All Year Resolution 4: Positive Habits

I’m an information junkie.  Occasionally, I’ll see some professionally prepared reports that from the marketing industry that can cost up to $5,000.  I’ve yet to buy one, as you might imagine.  But I’m sure the people who do buy them get their money’s worth.

On the other hand, I’ve been thinking a lot about how consistently applying one little bit of information, whatever field it happens to be in, could make a tremendous difference in anyone’s life.  The secret, of course, is the consistency part.

If you could do one thing over and over again every day, how much would it be worth to you?  Say you could automatically have the body and health you desired within 90 days.  If you could simply write a check for it, what’s the most you would pay? $500? $5,000? $50,000?

I’ve recommended The Power of Positive Habits, by Dan Robey, before.  I was just looking through it again recently, and I realized, once again, that any one of the habits he goes through could make a huge difference in anyone’s life.  Then the fact that he has dozens of them, gives you great info about implementing them into your life, and presents it all in a simple format—well, you get your money’s worth, and it’s not going to cost you $500 or more.  In fact, with all you get with the program, you won’t believe the price.

Dan says a positive habit takes 21 days to develop.  He calls is “cognitive restructuring”.  Do something every day for 21 days, and after that time, you’ll have it literally imprinted onto your brain.  That’s a pretty powerful idea.  Just think.  If you could follow your health program for 21 days straight, it might imprint itself over your current health habits—potentially, forever.

The book itself is worth the money.  Then he packs on an unbelievable set of free resources that will just blow you away.  Forget the content of this stuff.  I want to know how he got everybody to donate this stuff.  Dan clearly has the support of a lot of successful people out there, and he’s done a huge amount of research to get you the best information available on making changes in all aspect of your life.

Even if you don’t get his program, make a promise to yourself to do develop positive habits on a consistent basis.  Not only will you get the habits “installed” into your system.  You’ll also get the confidence from knowing you can do something so powerful for yourself with just a few minutes a day.  That’s a great thing to remember.
